How many people can remember when Facebook first welcomed third party applications that allowed members to utilize person-to-person money exchange? For those that do remember, those companies that tried it reaped millions in revenue from people wanting to share, loan, and give monetary gifts. With that in sight, now a prepaid card issuer by the name of Facecard looks to offer Facebook members more options by way of its new application.
With this new application, Facebook members will be able to link their accounts with a Facecard prepaid MasterCard. After this is done members are then able to choose from a multitude of options. Those options include:
- Sending "money messages"
- Donate money toward a user’s wish list
- Send money toward real "thinking of you" gift
With "money messages", memberes are allowed to send money to friends and family within the Facebook network using the message service. As for donating money toward a wish list, users can donate portions of cash toward other users’ goals as well as fundraisers. When it comes to "thinking of you" gifts where member currently purchase pictures of items to send to their friends, this new Facecard applications will allow users to give cash donations toward the real thing.
