Credit score

A number assigned to you by a credit bureau or financial analytics firm, based on your borrowing history. If your credit score is high, you have a better chance of qualifying for a loan or a credit card -- and for the best possible interest rate. Different bureaus use different numbering systems. The most widely used credit score is the FICO score, which ranges from 300 to 850.
